You have failed me for the last time
Verizon told us they'd put in the DNS changes on an emergency basis yesterday. When nothing had changed this morning, I was pretty sure that no changes had been made. I called tech support this morning and chased down the DNS people, and I was right: they lied. The changes have not been made. They're putting them in on an emergency basis again today.

We're going out of town tomorrow and back Sunday. If whiterose isn't working by the time we get back, we're firing Verizon and going back to Speakeasy. I'm done. I'm either paying the extra money in DSL fees or in blood pressure medicine, and I'd much rather spend it on the former than the latter.

I sent an email to your Whiterose address yesterday and got a 'connection timed out' message from the mailer daemon. Should I send it to you at an alternate address?

The price diff must be substantial for y'all to give them so much rope. I hope it gets cleared out soon -- but they certainly don't inspire confidence in that.

$100 a month.

The PTR record is now resolving to the new IP, but the MX and A are not. The MX and A will take 24 hours to propagate, though. Something has happened, but we won't know for sure for a while.

Ouch - yeah, I can see how $1200/year, every year for the foreseeable future could buy a lot of 32nd chances. *fingers crossed* And, btw, have a lovely time out of town this weekend.

Knock on wood. Any Verizon Level One Tech's head counts as wood for the purposes of this exercise.
